Meet Your Coach:
Lisa Clark, MA, CPT

A Strength Coach with Unmatched Credentials

I’m Lisa—a strength coach, former corporate executive, and lifelong learner dedicated to helping people become stronger, healthier, and more confident at every age.

I hold a Master’s degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology, which means I deeply understand human behavior, motivation, and how people learn best. This background shapes how I teach, encourage, and support my clients.

I believe strength is for everyone—especially adults 40+ who want to stay active, independent, and injury-free.

My Unique Approach:

✔ Educational — I teach you the why behind every lift
✔ Safe — form and mechanics always come first
✔ Evidence-based — everything I coach is backed by physics, anatomy & physiology
✔ Simple — no gimmicks, no fluff, no trendy workouts
✔ Sustainable — long-term strength that supports your real life

My Story

For years, I worked out without really knowing whether I was doing the right exercises or doing them correctly. Like many people, I followed conflicting advice online and from various “experts.”

When I discovered Starting Strength, everything changed.
For the first time, I had the why behind proper form, programming, and technique. The science made sense. The results were measurable. And I fell in love with the process.

This clarity sparked something big—and eventually led me to leave the corporate world and dedicate my life to helping others experience the same transformation.

Why?

Why?

Because helping people get strong has both immediate and long-term benefits – both physically and psychologically. Watching my clients go through this journey is incredibly rewarding! These are some of my proudest moments (stories told to me by my clients):

Why?

Real people. Real strength. Real-life wins.

75-year-old,

who was incredibly excited to show her husband she could get herself off the toilet without using the safety handle bar on the wall.

37-year-old,

who began to love her body for what it could do instead of focusing on the number on the scale. Previously, she was never able to stick with an exercise program for more than six weeks. She has now been lifting for four years.

72-year-old,

an avid gardener, who no longer needed the help of her husband to move gardening supplies in her yard or lift a heavy watering can overhead to reach hanging plants.

28-year-old,

who felt ready to start dating after changing her body composition.

71-year old,

who was able to quicky recover from a major, emergency surgery due, in part, to the strength she had built from training over the previous year.

My BIG Accomplishment

IMG_8943.jpg

I’ve competed in two strength competitions and placed in both: 2nd place in my first meet (in a field of women of all ages and weight classes) and 1st place in my second.

These results aren’t about ego. They’re evidence.
> Evidence that the methods I teach work.
> Evidence that proper technique and consistency pay off.
> Evidence that you’ll be guided by a coach who has walked the path—not just coached from the sidelines.

My competitive background gives me the insight to train others with intention, clarity, and a real understanding of what it takes to get strong.

A Quick Message from Lisa

Why My Clients Trust Me

Because I don’t just teach you what to do—I teach you why it works.

I explain how your body moves, how strength improves, and how your program is progressing.

You’ll always know:
– Why your form matters
– Why the weight increased
– Why you're resting a certain amount
– Why your program is structured the way it is

Education = confidence.

Confidence = better lifting.

Better lifting = better results.
